I felt overflow of energy of these guys!

This would be a memorable photo for me. Zeefreaks, Celeste, Alpha Centori, and Maity.  It signifies who I am as a trader. Without these guys I would have not developed to who am I right now. They all part of my story which I’ll always treasure.

Zeefreaks, it was him (his blog) who had given me an idea on how someone like me can possibly make it in the world which I thought was only for the rich and smart. His achievements in creating the ZF system gave me what I was looking for. A system that is very simple yet very powerful if used correctly. I was already sold when I heard one of his powerful phrase:

“No news, No recos, just plain chart.”

Rooting for Celeste, it was her blog who encourage me to cut my losing position that time. My position in a nickel stock (FNI) which was recommended by someone whose famous in fundamental analysis. As a newbie trader, I was in the highest point of my hopes to earn fast in the stock market not knowing what danger lies ahead. Stuck in a losing position because I had this idea which tickled my innocent belief that this stock will shoot up once the demand in nickel sky rocket back in summer of 2016.

It was this post which served to be a wake up call:

It took me 6 months to become a part of the tribe with the help of the next person.

Alpha Centori, an angel, my mentor, maybe I’m just really lucky after all the catastrophe which happened to me in my early years of investing. Right before I was about to give up, I was in the right time when he felt generous enough to teach few traders for free but just make a random act of kindness as our tuition fee. He taught me the basic fundamental of the ZF system and guided us along our journey. It was because of him why I became a part of something big. Made friends with people who share similar goals. It was like a steroid in my learning curve though it wasn’t fast compare to others.

It was an info-overload which I just figured out lately.

Maity Gee, this guy is really an inspiration. I saw him rapidly developed through his unwavering persistence and dedication was very motivating. His generosity in sharing his knowledge also had helped me fix some of my dilemmas in trading. The clarity of his objectivity was one of the traits I replicate in my style. I’m really happy with his achievement and I’m excited to see himself in a bigger picture in the trading world. It was him and actually Sirius Lee who greatly influenced my trading style. Kudos to you guys!

He is one of the biggest hearts in our team!

Keep it up paps!

The Rift Live, another successful event which fueled up my fire from within. It was really uplifting when I heard Maity roared out that overwhelming joy that he already achieved his initial goal in trading, Trade full time!

SOON I WILL!

Congrats Team Uhaw (ZFT UAE) specially to the organizers!

Part 5.9 – Muscle Memory

How does muscle memory works?

In the movie Karate Kid, the kid had practiced putting on and off his jacket until he got fed off of the routine. Unknowingly, his brain got programmed by doing that repetitive movements of his body. The picture shows that he had learned how to respond synonymously based from what he was taught.

When I first knew what indicator and their use I was very excited to put them in action right away. Most often my trades weren’t successful due to lack of preparation in my plans and mental skills. All the mistakes and errors were essential in my development. It’s like solving a puzzle in my many different ways but only thing was I needed to align the solution in my personality. During those times I felt like I wasn’t going any farther in my studies but I just kept telling myself not give up and I’m learning how “not” to trade profitably. Fed myself with lots of motivation to overwhelmed my frustration in my failures. Instead of comforting myself I took every opportunity to refine my strategy again and again. I’ve been counting months and years for that moment when will I see myself on the other side.

It took me 2 years to learn who or what am I in trading. From my schedule, accessibility, resources, up to my personality I was able to align myself with trading. Tried out all the plays I was taught and burned much of my funds out of thin air. I blew up twice of my account after the program where I blamed all my mistakes to my lack of discipline, dedication and focus. It all turned the page when I started strengthening my muscle memory.

The accumulated years of experience through repetitive events and collections of historical chart pattern recognition in trading builds up the muscle memory. It’s similar to memorizing something which occurs over and over again until you no longer needed a copy or any written reference. Since we are not robots we have to do repetitive practices to be able to program it in our brain.

***Muscle memory has been used synonymously with motor learning, which is a form of procedural memory that involves consolidating a specific motor task into memory through repetition.

How I was able to strengthen my muscle memory?

  • Screen time (experience in live trading) and back-testing on historical charts
  • dissecting trades
  • Trade journal

As they say in the Tribe,

“Eat charts for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner”.

Through time my technical strategy, mental skills and risk management have started building confidence on how I could be able to extract fortune in stock market. Though I’m still working out with my consistency nevertheless I thought this was enough to serve as a baseline from being a losing trader going to the other side.

Work on your muscle memory and you’ll see what I was talking about. 😉
